Hêvî is a Kurdish word meaning Hope. we envisioned the word Hope as the most prominent concept that defined our experiences of living and working here as activists.
At Hêvî we believe that those who can best help and support refugees and the war-torn shattered communities around them are the ones who come from such communities, who have also suffered the ravages of war, and who themselves have been the ‘children of the camps’ not that long ago. We envision Hêvî being the water that sprinkles that garden.
What We Do
Children
Children from the age of 5 - 6 after the ISIL strike. Families do not value education and study. The level of literacy is low, and great damage to the future of the region.
Women
We believe that women are the pillars of society. They are spinal cords that suffer mental harm, warfare, injury, fatigue, hunger, children and the elderly.
Health
The public suffers the most damage during the war, and the cost and lack of treatment facilities make health a primary source of assistance.
Refugees and IDPS
At the same time as the International Day of Refugees, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) issued a report announcing that, since the outbreak of the Syrian crisis, and for the first time since the end of the Second World War, the global number of refugees, asylum seekers and displaced persons in 2013 will be fifty-one million people has done.
